Hello! My name is Terri Ann, and I bring seventeen years of experience working with a diverse population of individuals and families. I provide a warm, empathetic, and down-to-earth counselling environment designed to support healing and personal growth.
My personal and professional experiences have equipped me to assist clients in navigating grief, trauma, and loss with compassion and understanding. I am dedicated to supporting individuals facing challenges related to addictions, mental health, and relationship issues. My goal is to offer a welcoming, non-judgmental, and holistic experience that helps clients find purpose and connection in their journey toward healing. I work with clients from all backgrounds, sexual orientations and cultures, providing a space where they can share their unique stories and identities outside the constraints of mainstream definitions.
With a unique two-eyed seeing approach, I also offer culturally aware services that integrate both Indigenous and Western perspectives. This method allows me to create a safe space where clients can explore their identities and stories without feeling confined to a single narrative. In our sessions, we may explore various therapeutic approaches to suit your unique needs. This could include traditional practices like smudging and nature-based healing, as well as evidence-based therapies such as narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).
I have experience working with neurodivergent clients, providing tailored support that respects and understands their unique ways of experiencing the world. My practice is inclusive and embraces gender diversity, recognizing and addressing the distinct challenges faced by individuals of all gender identities. I am particularly attuned to the unique challenges faced by individuals who identify as women, such as navigating traditional values, gender roles, child care, mom guilt, and balancing work and parenting. I provide support to help them manage societal expectations and personal struggles.
Additionally, I have a strong background in supporting individuals who experience work-related trauma. Whether it’s burnout, workplace conflict, or stress in high-pressure environments, I offer compassionate and effective strategies to help clients manage and overcome these challenges. My approach is always centred on creating an inclusive, understanding, and supportive space for all clients, ensuring that everyone feels heard, valued, and empowered on the journey to healing and personal growth.
